Garden view rooms have a separate bedroom with a King Size bed. The living area has a single bed. Garden view rooms are comfortable with three people although an additional bed can be added to sleep four. Rooms are a fresh ocean colour palette, all at ground level. A private patio overlooks our lush tropical garden.
Garden View rooms can accommodate a maximum of 4 people. Perfect for singles, couples or families with small children.

Cabana rooms are large, open plan studios with high vaulted ceilings flooded with abundant natural light. The perfect room for a couple. If required Cabana Rooms can accommodate a maximum of three people with a King and Single bed. Rooms are a fresh ocean colour palette, all at ground level. The private patio overlooks the sparkling pool and lush gardens.
Cabana rooms can accommodate a maximum of 3 adults. Perfect for singles or couples.
Cabana rooms are currently undergoing a remodel to be completed post Covid 19 lockdown. New windows and doors to rears of the units, new roof and a repaint and refresh of soft furnishings. Refit of front doors and windows also under action but might follow a bit later. Photos will be updated on completion of the work. Current photos still indicate the size and comfort of the rooms.
Pool View rooms are slightly larger than Garden View Rooms. They have vaulted ceilings to maximize light and air flow. Pool View rooms can accommodate up to four people with a King bed in the separate bedroom and two singles in the living area. Rooms are a fresh ocean palette, all at ground level. The private patio overlooks the sparkling pool and lush gardens.

Many hotels on Rarotonga do not accept children under 16 years of age. At The Black Pearl at Puaikura we recognise that travelling with children can be rewarding for the whole family through shared experiences.
We accept well behaved children under the age of 12 years. For the enjoyment of other guests we ask that children be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. We do not have a Kids Club – if that is what you are looking for there are other hotels that will better suit your needs. Our Cabana Rooms are exclusively for adults. If you are travelling with children please reserve a Garden view or Pool view room.

Flights to and from Rarotonga can be at unsociable hours – very early morning or very late at night. Our check in time is 2pm and our check out time is 10am. If you require access to your room outside of these times, early check in (from 6am) or late check out (to 6pm) is charged at $95 subject to availability. In the busier months of May to November early check-in/check -out may not be available due to high occupancy. To guarantee immediate access to your room or late use of your room, you will need to book an additional night’s accommodation.
Please check your flight dates and times carefully, particularly if you are flying Jetstar from Australia/New Zealand or Air New Zealand from Los Angeles. You will cross the International Dateline if travelling from Australia and New Zealand to Rarotonga – arriving the day before you left. Flights from Los Angeles typically arrive early in the morning.
We are happy to arrange return airport transfers for you at a cost of $50 per person. This includes being met on arrival, a traditional fresh flower ei greeting, luggage assistance, plus transportation. For arrivals outside office hours the driver will take you straight to your room.
When making your reservation please let us know your arrival and departure flights/dates and times so we can check we have the correct accommodation booked for you and we ask that you let us know whether you would like transfers arranged.
